Avid fishermen find the Cariboo an ideal spot to indulge their sport. Species which can be caught at different locations and in different seasons include trout and char. Also found here but strictly controlled by catch and release regulations are all steelhead, kokanee salmon, whitefish, burbot and sturgeon.
Fishermen are required to report all tagged fish they catch and are asked to release them back into the water.
