The Williams Lake Timberwolves – Junior A hockey is back
Thursday, April 9th, 2009 by GetawayBC.com

After folding at the end of the 2006/2007 campaign after five seasons, the Williams Lake TimberWolves Junior A hockey club is once again howling in the lakecity.
When the puck drops at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season, the TimberWolves will join seven other teams in the British Columbia Hockey League’s Interior Division including the Prince George Spruce Kings, the Quesnel Millionaires, the Merritt Centennials, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, the Vernon Vipers, the Penticton Vees and the Trail Smoke Eaters.
The team has undergone a complete change in ownership, as local businessmen Richard Kohlen, John Wright and David Pocock have purchased and dedicated themselves to the team with hopes of resurrecting a thriving Junior A hockey program in the lakecity.
A new general manager and head coach, Brad Fox – who has worked as an assistant coach for the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Western Hockey League and, most recently, was the head coach of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s Revelstoke Grizzlies – has been hired and says coaching and managing a Junior A franchise is a dream he’s held since he began coaching hockey 25 years ago.
The BCHL has a total of 17 teams in three divisions – the Interior Division, the Mainland Division and Island Division.
The regular season runs from the beginning of September to the end of February, with playoffs beginning in the second week of March.
The TimberWolves play a 60-game regular season, with 30 games being played at their hometown arena – the Cariboo Memorial Complex – which seats 1,000 fans.
Currently, season tickets and single game tickets are available at the TimberWolves office, located beside the Cariboo Memorial Complex.
