A Senior’s Life

Based on the activities available to them, Surrey’s seniors can be forgiven for thinking that they don’t have the time to be retired.
“There is whole range of programs,” Laurie Cavan, manager of Community and Leisure Services for the City of Surrey, pointed out. “There is a wide variety of offerings.”
While some of Surrey’s town centres feature their own specific seniors’ facilities, explained Cavan, “others offer a variety of programs within our community centres.”
Those programs are widely diverse, ranging from the basic act of coming together to socialize with peers, to physical fitness/wellness activities, card games, drama activities and even computer clubs.
Where the seniors’ services are integrated with rec centres, thus providing access to gyms, you can add such sports as badminton and carpet bowling to the mix.
