Residents of Dodge Cove, located on Digby Island just across from the B.C. Ferries terminal, will once again be putting their art on display for the annual Dodge Cove Art Exhibition.
The event gets underway at noon on June 16 and runs until 5:30 p.m. and co-organizer Jan Yoma says this year’s event promises to be another great show. Along with 30 or 40 paintings, there is scheduled to be homemade quilts from the quilting guild, homemade jewelry, wood and willow furniture and postcard size prints of the art on display.
“It is open to all ages and enjoyable for all ages because there is a band playing to. Last year we had the Undecideds and the community band play and this year we have the community band playing again. It’s a nice time of year for a family outing so people can come and enjoy the music, enjoy the show, enjoy some of the snacks that we have available, go for a walk and maybe do some berry picking. It’s just a real nice outing, and it is free except for the ferry ride,” he said.
Ferry service to Dodge Cove leaves Atlin Dock at noon and again at three p.m., with return trips leaving Dodge Cove at 12:15, 3:15 and 5:30 p.m. For more information on the show phone Jan or Cheryl at 624-8144.;
