With over 40 studios and galleries in Summerland, art is everywhere you are – whether it’s sculptures, murals, street banners or mother nature’s clay bluffs, everywhere you go there’s something to view. Art studios pop up unexpectedly as you wander through town.
Every July to August the Summerland Art Gallery hosts a Artwalk for locals and visitors to view and shop at galleries, learn about the featured artist or just enjoy the artsy ambiance.

Sculptures in Summerland
On your downtown tour, stop at Summerland’s Voice of Mother Earth Sculpture beside the Museum on Wharton & Rosedale. Stewart Steinhauer created the sculpture, as part of the Thompson-Okanagan International Sculpture Symposium in 2002. Another sculpture Fruit of the Earth by Summerland sculptor Wally Frankoski awaits your perusal beside Municipal Hall on Henry Avenue. The Standing Man sculpture by Michael Hermesh can be found at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens.
Murals
Walk through downtown Summerland where you can see murals on buildings that grace the premises of several public buildings. Murals can be found along Jubilee Road, Rosedale Ave and Victoria Road. Summerland’s rich agricultural history can be seen through the vibrant mural on the Packing House wall found at 8911 Jubilee Road. This mural is larger than life at over two stories tall!
Theatre & Music
Summerland’s thriving local arts community rivals that of many larger centres, offering live theatre, art and music. The Memorial Park band shell on Wharton Street hosts many musical ensembles and concerts throughout the summer.
Summerland’s theatre and entertainment offerings are widely known. Each year the town welcomes hundreds of people who come to view and participate in the “Good Will Shakespeare Festival” hosted by the secondary school. The Summerland Singers & Players is one of the oldest community theatre groups in BC and presents two productions each year.
