The day-long Brentwood Bay Festival of fun kicks off with the Central Saanich Lion’s mouth-watering Pancake Breakfast. Steaming plates of fluffy pancakes and juicy sausages are available starting at 8 a.m. beside the Old West Saanich Schoolhouse in Pioneer Park. The colourful, music-filled parade begins at Bayside middle school on Wallace Drive, and continues along West Saanich Road to Stelly’s X Road. Park your lawn chair on the sidewalk or pull up a piece of curb – every seat’s got a great view.
Along with the traditional parade there will be plenty of clowns, kids’ activities, local artists and vendors, two stages of music, and more! A delicious First Nations Salmon Barbecue is offered at noon.
The fun continues all day with miniature golf, comedians, dancers and magicians.
Be sure to stroll through Art in the Park, and take in all the amazing wares in the market area at Pioneer Park.
The 2008 Brentwood Bay Festival will be held on June 7 in Pioneer Park (at the intersection of West Saanich and Clarke Road) in Brentwood Bay.
Take in the annual Yellow Wolf Powwow on Tsartlip land, off Stelly’s X Road, on the August long weekend. First Nation dancers, drummers and singers of all ages will amaze you with their talent.
Brentwood Bay’s Annual Strawberry Dance is held each June in the Brentwood Community Hall.
