Cosmo Meens: Fresh and Organic
Thursday, August 20th, 2009 by GetawayBC.com

There are many things to ask local foodie Cosmo Meens, the “co-creator and co-visionary” of Mo:Le, one of Victoria’s hipper happening food hotspots, and Cafe Bliss, its neighbour and a welcome (and tasty) addition to Victoria’s raw-food circle. Like, what he thinks of the local food scene (“Wonderful, world-class; simple, fresh, local, organic”) or how business is going (“We sold it to our partner Joshua Miller. It’s going wonderful”). But, mainly, I had to find out why the place is called Mo:Le. I mean, we’ve got a colon in there, generally a bad idea, and a jarring capital letter halfway through a word that probably doesn’t rhyme with “hole” . . . yeah, it’s kinda messy, but his reasons are good-and simple enough. It’s a combination of the last two letters of his first name and the first two letters of his wife’s name, Leah.
